Application Details
The Contractors Association of Will and Grundy Counties Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the Annual CAWGC Scholarship Program. Since the program’s inception in 1996, the association has awarded over $180,000 to deserving scholars who will be pursuing degrees in the construction field.
Applicants must be the son/daughter of an owner OR Applicant must be a son/daughter of a full-time employee of a CAWGC member company OR a son/daughter of a Will/Grundy union building tradesman, who will be attending college full-time in the Fall of 2025 or a present full-time college student who is pursuing an undergraduate degree.
A construction related major and a 2.0 GPA (C or better average) is also required. The application deadline is March 14, 2025. An interview will be required for all first-time finalists. Recipients will be announced in April 2025.
Contractors Association of Will & Grundy Counties Scholarship Awards Program
Eligibility Criteria:
• son/daughter of: an owner of a CAWGC member company OR full-time employee of a CAWGC member company OR Will/Grundy union building tradesman.
• A high school senior (Spring 2025 graduate) planning to
attend college FULL-time OR presently a FULL-time college student pursuing an undergraduate degree
• Minimum 2.0 GPA
• Majoring in a CONSTRUCTION related curriculum, such as construction management, architecture, engineering, interior design, etc.
Finalists will be interviewed by the Scholarship Committee in early April 2025. Scholarships will be awarded in late April and funds will be sent directly to the college or university’s bursar – to be used for tuition and/or books only.

• Use “N/A” if question does not apply.
• Essay required (500 words or less) answering 4 questions outlined on page 5 of this application.
• Written verification of parents employment with CAWGC member or Building Trade Union.
• Two (2) personal reference letters.
• Official HS transcripts & ACT/SAT scores, or College transcripts, if applicable.
• The application and requirements must be submitted no later than 4pm on Friday, March 14, 2025.
